Hotel Marquis Los Cabos Receives the WTTC Hotel Sustainability Basics Distinction
Our operations are guided by responsible policies aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting more conscious tourism, integrating practices that optimize resource use, manage waste effectively, and foster environmental awareness among both staff and guests.
We are proud to announce that Hotel Marquis Los Cabos has received the WTTC Hotel Sustainability Basics Distinction, awarded by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), an international recognition that validates the adoption of sustainable practices aligned with global standards in the tourism industry.
The Hotel Sustainability Basics program establishes 12 essential criteria that every hotel must meet to ensure responsible and environmentally respectful operations. These standards cover three fundamental pillars: environmental efficiency — including responsible energy and water use, waste management, and the elimination of single-use plastics; support for local communities, through job creation and sourcing from regional suppliers; and operational transparency, reflected in carbon footprint measurement and the public reporting of sustainability progress.
This distinction reflects our commitment to energy efficiency, sustainable water management, waste reduction, and the integration of social and environmental responsibility policies into every aspect of our operations. It also reinforces our vision of actively contributing to the well-being of local communities and preserving the natural and cultural environment of Los Cabos.
Receiving the WTTC Hotel Sustainability Basics Distinction represents a significant step in our journey toward excellence in sustainability and reaffirms our determination to continue evolving toward even higher standards. At Hotel Marquis Los Cabos, we understand that true luxury is in harmony with nature, and our commitment is to ensure that every guest experience is responsible, authentic, and respectful of the planet.
