Did the long Labor Day weekend come and go too fast? If you want to treat yourself to a sun-filled getaway later this month, here's one option that is sure to bring you good karma: The Marquis Los Cabos, right on the beach on the tip of Baja California, is offering fourth and seventh nights for free (just ask for the Mexico Extravaganza Package when you book). Stay for a week, and you'll save almost 30%. Choose either an ocean-view suite or a private casita; the latter have their own private plunge pools. There are also three restaurants, a bar, and a 15,000-foot holistic spa and fitness center, so you need never leave the property.

What makes this hotel a responsible traveler's choice? When the owners opened their doors to guests back in 2003, they also opened a university for their employees. Books and classes are paid for entirely by the hotel, which donates 5% of its annual revenue to staff education and health care.

The giving back doesn't stop there: The hotel also turns off all its lights for every full moon, lighting the place instead with candles and reducing the energy usage by 25%. And employee uniforms are embroidered by a small community near Mexico City, not a sweatshop somewhere in Asia. With room rates starting at $240 per night, Marquis Los Cabos isn't the cheapest Mexican holiday you'll find, but its heart is in the right place.

I just wanted to thank you and your wonderful staff at Marquis Los Cabos for making our stay during our 20th. Anniversary a most enjoyable and wonderful experience.

From the time we checked into the hotel until the day we left, everything was perfect!

Jeff and I were able to look at the Marquis Suite this visit and loved the room and would like to know if any of the suites will be available later this year? The web-site shows the suites are all sold out with the days I have selected, but if you would have Belem contact me with availability, then I can work around some dates.

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how impressed I was with your staff. As you may know, we had very last minute requests during the execution of this program and your staff accommodated us with no hesitation. Especial thank you goes to Sandra Castañeda for her cooperation with all our American Express contract requirements. I was extremely impressed with her help and presence through out the planing & execution process, as you know, that is not typical of sales managers.

I would especially like to single out Connie Enriquez for her excellent coordination of our event from the moment we signed the contract. Her warm personality and attention to detail made her the perfect partner in our planning efforts. We asked for several things not typically offered by the hotel, and she made every effort to accommodate our wishes. This included moving our final night's event to the hotel at the very last minute, creating a most memorable evening for the meeting host's and the attendees.

When I first visited your hotel about two years ago, I was immediately impressed by the look and feel of the property as well as the location within the city. Now, I am equally impressed with the service and staff that work within the hotel. I would certainly recommend this property to other colleagues for future events.

Thank you all very much for all of your hospitality last week during the International Group Sales Fam trip. Our family of four stayed at Marquis Los Cabos from June 8-13. I wanted you to know that our expectations were wonderfully exceeded across the board.

This trip was in celebration of our daughter's high school graduation and was planned for some time. With all the negative press concerning Mexico, we cancelled thinking it was not safe for a number of reasons. We're very glad that, upon hearing from other recent travelers to Cabo that all was indeed well, we changed our plans. That included a switch from the Fiesta Americana to the Marquis.

Every one of your staff could not have been more pleasant, helpful or gracious. We were very impressed with a number of the hotel's features, including the pools, the sizeable gym, the comfortable beds and more. The spa treatments were excellent, and I personally have gotten massages at hotels literally all over the world.

Our only suggestion would be better lighting for reading in bed. Additionally, I don't think the per diem charge for gratuities was included in the daily rate we were quoted, but the money was Well spent from our perspective. We just like to be aware of all charges in advance. Thank you again for making our stay so wonderful. We look forward to Visiting again!
