Paradise has an address, Marquis Los Cabos is proud to present a spectacular live Art Gallery which will last forever as does the finest cut diamond.

The Angels are flying over Baja California Sur looking for a new Paradise. As they approach, they can see Marquis Los Cabos and something catches their attention so they decide to land and look around. The huge fountain at the entrance represents the landing of the Angels. As they walk through they start to feel peace, harmony, like in Heaven. Two of them are located in the lobby (Man & Woman) with their wings open and their feet anchored to the globe. They want to stay, but… not just yet, they hesitate. As they finish their journey through the Hotel and arrive at the main swimming pool, their minds are set; they have found serenity and decide that this is the place to live, shedding their wings and becoming Human.

We chose Jorge Marin for what his art brings out in all of us. This dedication and gift is for every Guest and Employee who comes to Marquis Los Cabos. What Jorge Marin learned from religious sculpture goes beyond craftsmanship and style, his Art “Speaks” to the spirit bringing each piece alive.

The Angel Trilogy was purchased by my Wife Catia and I so that it reminds every person entering Marquis Los Cabos to use All Their Senses and to remember our Mission and Philosophy, which is to create an atmosphere defined by its exemplary hospitality and where one enjoys life, work, business and pleasure.

Everything is complemented by the Suite Decoration. Each room displays an original painting by Agustin Castro. Agustín Castro Lopez (Mexico DF, 1958) studied Painting in the Academic of Plastic Arts, Bachelors School (74-77) and in the National School of Painting and Engraving La Esmeralda (81-86). From 1979, has celebrated multiple exhibitions of his work, between which we emphasize: General offices of the Bachelors School (1982), National Hall of Plastic Arts, Gallery of the National Institute of Fine Arts INBA

In our Gourmet Restaurant “Canto Del Mar” Song of the Sea, we can find the excellent and unique paintings of Fernando Garrido. Fernando H. Garrido was born in Mexico City and now leaves in the beautiful city of “Queretaro”. Visual capacity without limit, photography of one´s own mind and fantasy where each detail is created with exactitude and beauty, each element takes the form of the perfect universe. Fernando Garrido gives us the opportunity to open the door to another reality, a virtual World where we can travel freely, use our imagination to visit beautiful and mysterious places.

Other creations at Marquis Los Cabos are the Statues and paintings of Mercedes Hoyos located in our Suspiro Bar. Each statue has been placed so it smiles at our Guests and welcomes them. Ana Mercedes Hoyos is one of the most outstanding figures in present-day Colombian art. In 1978 she won first prize in the 23rd Colombian National Salon of Visual Arts with her work “Atmosphere” and was invited to participate in the Latin America show: Sensitive Geometry in the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro. She has held solo exhibitions in Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Caracas, New York, Tokyo, Santiago, Los Angeles, Mexico City and Monterrey. Her work has been the subject of three previous books, received a wide critical commentary and figured in publications like Art News, Newsweek, Time and Art in America

We are still in the live gallery and we can now appreciate the painting of Carlos Rios in our VIP Reception Lounge. Born in 1958, Carlos Ríos was raised in the middle of the Cuban jungle. His dialogue with nature reminds him of his childhood when he always had the urge to paint it. His education because of the Cuban regime made him study arquitecture. Once his studies were over, he came back to his passion and started painting beautiful nature scenery.
